Back in college, the only people you knew "forever" were people you grew up with. The long time friends you knew all your life. As you get older, "forever" changes a bit. It means something different. Tayler is one of my "forever" friends. We met while working at Kanakuk Kamps in Branson, Missouri. We spent a summer (and then two more) sweating it out in the summer heat, while loving on kids and talking about Jesus. Those were some of the best summers and Tayler was a huge part of that. Games of tetherball, crazy costumes at parties, and late night prank wars between our cabins. I got to be a witness to her and Bryan getting to know one another, date, get engaged, and get married. Fast forward to 2010 and I had the chance to work alongside the two of them here in Denver. They watched me meet, date, engage, and marry my husband. We've known each other for 13 years and seen it all. I love that with time, my "forever" friends get to morph and change. I am so thankful for these two and their friendship over the years and I have loved getting to capture their family as they welcomed their little boy into the world two years ago. This fall, we met up for a family session at the park to commemorate their little guy turning two and being just straight up adorable. I love that in a few short weeks, our baby girl will get to meet their little boy and have a "forever" friend and big brother.

Sometimes, weather gets in the way a bit of the "perfect" location. A little rain in Indiana is common and for this particular family session, the rain swallowed up some of my scouted locations. So we improvised! With a little space to roam in their backyard and greenery to add some interest, we pressed on with a session right in their backyard. Their little guy was on the verge of turning ONE, so it was the perfect time to document the Dodson family. Randi and Todd have been friends of mine for years and getting to see them as parents has been such a fun switch. The littlest member of the family was a trooper for family pictures. A little unsure at first, but Mom and Dad knew how to get a smile on his face! Thankful once again for the opportunity to document a milestone with this family!
